The suspects, according to the TY police commander Superintendent ’Matholoana Tholoana made away with an undisclosed amount of cash. Supt Tholoana said the suspects forced their way into the bank in the early hours of that morning and attacked a cash transit vehicle that was delivering cash at the bank.

She said a shoot-out ensued between the suspects and security personnel manning the cash-transit vehicle. One of the security officers she said was injured during the shooting and the suspects managed to flee the scene with two bags containing cash. A get-away car that the suspects allegedly used, Supt Tholoana said was later found abandoned in Ha Mokhothu.
