SPOKESPERSON of the Movement for Economic Change (MEC) Motlalentsoa Khoete died on Saturday morning at the Berea government hospital after he was admitted with breathing complications.

According to the party leader Selibe Mochoboroane, Mr Khoete was upon arrival at the hospital earlier that day put under oxygen support but he later succumbed to further breathing problems.

Although circumstances surrounding his death are still not quite clear, but Mr Mochoboroane has appealed to Basotho to comply with COVID-19 protocols, including regular washing or sanitising of hands, social distancing and wearing of facial masks.

“Every citizen’s responsibility is to ensure that the safety of their health starts with them before expecting the government take control,” he also said.

The latest reports on COVID-19 reveal that 33 109 tests have been conducted and 3 094 of them came out as positive cases with 1 480 recoveries and 51 deaths.
Lesotho moved back to colour purple on Monday midnight following the high rate of new infections and deaths recorded recently.
