THE trial in which the two political leaders, Mothetjoa Metsing and Selibe Mochoboroane are challenging to be joined in a case against five soldiers who are accused of the murder of police Sub-Inspector Mokheseng Ramahloko is expected to be heard on Tuesday next week.

The case was rescheduled on Friday after it was postponed on several previous occasions.
Metsing, leader of the Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) and also former Deputy Prime Minister together with Mochoboroane, leader of Movement for Economic Change (MEC) and Minister of Development Planning have trying to secure immunity from prosecution but all their attempts have been in vain.

The two have had their joinder in the criminal trial delayed following a series of applications, some of which ended up in the Court of Appeal.

Recently, one of their appeals was dismissed by the Court of Appeal, while another one was struck-off the roll.

If joined, they will be accused alongside former army commander Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli together with Captain Litekanyo Nyakane, Lance Corporals Motloheloa Ntsane and Leutsoa Motsieloa.
