THE unexpected death of Lesotho’s Ambassador to Canada Ralechate Lincoln ’Mokose has disheartened fellow members in the Alliance of Democrats (AD), the party’s Secretary General Dr Mahali Phamotse has announced.

Mr 'Mokose, 71, reportedly died over the weekend after a brief illness.

The veteran politician co-founded AD in 2016 together with former Deputy Prime Minister Monyane Moleleki after defecting from the Democratic Congress (DC) under former Prime Minister Pakalitha Mosisili.

Dr Phamotse said the party is still awaiting an official communiqué from government on the cause of Mr ’Mokose’s death.
The former high school principal has also served the government as a minister in various portfolios including the Ministries of Forestry and Land Reclamation, Agriculture and Food Security as well as Water Affairs during the period between 2003 and 2016.
