MASERU – A 30-year-old Mosotho man who was arrested by the Ficksburg Police for ferrying 20 bags of dagga across the Mohokare River (Caledon) is expected to appear before the Ficksburg Magistrate’s Court sometime this week.

The man was arrested after South African police found him sleeping next to the dagga bags.

According to the police, the dagga has a street value of M664 000.
Police believe that the suspect, who was arrested over the weekend, worked the entire night carrying the dagga bags on his shoulders.

The man was arrested a day after a huge consignment of antiretroviral (ARV) tablets was seized and two suspects arrested in Bloemfontein, South Africa. The suspects were apprehended when their vehicle was intercepted by police on the road.
