MASERU – A Mafeteng man who allegedly raped his 17-year-old niece is expected to appear in court on Wednesday.

Police assistant spokesperson Sergeant ’Mareabetsoe Mofoka said the 43-year-old man arrived at the victim’s home on the night of October 11.

The man, Sgt Mofoka said showed no intention of leaving when the victim who was home alone wanted to retire to bed.

Instead, he locked the front door and pounced on the unsuspecting girl before sexually molesting her, she said.

“The victim later escaped and sought refuge at her aunt’s home located a few houses away,” she also said, adding that the suspect was later arrested by fellow villagers.
