Association wants sports reporters allowed back on field
The Setsoto Stadium in Maseru
This is according to a media statement issued by the association on July 17.
The association says it fully understands the brunt of surging COVID-19 cases in Lesotho and its ramifications on otherwise normal coverage of sporting activities as well as events.
It shows that it is equally worried like the whole nation and is in full acceptance of the new dynamics that are brought forward by the ‘New Normal’ adding that the health of its members is top priority at this time of the pandemic.
The body therefore pleads with the government to ensure that its members get the COVID-19 vaccination.
It also urges sports federations and associations to afford its members the necessary access and tools for a safe working environment.
It says during this time that spectators have been banned from attending sports activities, sports reporters should be seen as critical stakeholders to help keep sports lovers up to date with what is happening in the sports world.

The LSRA is aimed at advancing the well-being of sports reporters in the country as well as encouraging unity among the reporters and other sports federations.
It is tasked with among others, ensuring that sports journalists, in their line of duty, have free, comfortable, uncompromising, and non-discriminatory environment and have smooth relations with other stakeholders. LeNA
