TWO South Africa premiership clubs have shown interest in the services of Likuena duo of Rethabile Rasethuntša and Tumelo Makha and will thus be monitoring the two players during the COSAFA Cup that gets underway on Tuesday.

The two players who made the Likuena final squad for the regional competition are likely to play a vital role in the Leslie Notsi’s side that gets its campaign on course this Tuesday against Eswatini at the Nelson Mandela Bay Stadium.

Rasethuntša, who plays for Linare in the Vodacom Premier League, is reportedly being monitored by Swallows and the club also recently sent scouts to watch the utility player in action in Lesotho.

The 26-year-old star won his maiden cap for the national team while Notsi was temporarily in charge of Likuena in 2019, featuring in the back-to-back victories over South Africa in the CHAN qualifiers.

Makha on the other hand has been outstanding for Lioli this season and has already registered six goals in the league, including a hat-trick against rookies, Manonyane of Roma.

Sources close to the developments have stated that Sekhukhune United, who recently unveiled former Likuena head coach Thabo Senong as their assistant coach, are keen in the services of the talented Lioli midfielder.

Senong handed Makha his debut cap for the national team during the recent Three Nations Tournament in Maputo, where Likuena lost to both Mozambique and Eswatini.

According to recent reports in the country, Makha’s current contract with Lioli expired on July 3, and some Vodacom Premier League big guns are also monitoring the situation closely for the inform midfielder.

The Likuena squad currently has the trio of Motebang Sera (Bloemfontein Celtic), Tumelo Khutlang (Black Leopards) and Tswarelo Bereng (TTM now Marumo Gallants FC), who are playing their football in South Africa.
