The move to North Africa has been confirmed by the lanky striker, who also played in South Africa for Real Kings. The transfer has further been confirmed by Tse Nala.
The 28-year-old forward stated that the Red Knights, as Asswehly are popularly known in Libya, have been following his career for some time including during his time in South Africa and while playing for the national team.
Masoabi left the country for the North African country after the Christmas break and had been training with Asswehly before the deal was finalised this week.
“Yes, it’s a done deal. The team has already unveiled me here and I’m looking forward to making a name for myself with the club,” Masoabi said.
“They had been following my career for some time and saw me in action while playing for Real Kings as well as the national team.
“I’m very happy to join the side because their set up is of high standards. North Africa countries are highly developed, and you would think it is Europe. Everything is high quality, training facilities and everything.”

Tse Nala also confirmed the transfer on their social media platform after the player had just returned to the club before the start of the 2020/2021 season.
“Our striker Masoabi Nkoto has signed a two-and half-year contract with Swehly Sporting Club in the Libya Premier League,” Lioli announced.
“Mr Nkoto went for trials with Swehly that play in the elite league in Libya two weeks ago. We wish him well at his new club and expect him to represent us and the country well,” the statement concluded.
