Tse-Putsoa were as intimidating as ever when they converted an opening goal in just 10 seconds into the game, through Jane Thabantšo.
This was probably the fastest goal in Lesotho Premier League history, making the goal Thabantšo’s second fastest in his career after scoring another swift one in 34 seconds in the 2016 COSAFA Cup 3-0 win over Mauritius in Namibia.
Matlama effortlessly dominated the first half of the Saturday meeting and their captain Phafa Tšosane netted the second goal in the 27th minute.
But Tšosane was four minutes later denied a brace when Likhopo’s goalkeeper Fusi Ranone stopped his well taken penalty kick.
The visiting Likhopo’s confidence was further diminished when Lerotholi Zwane pushed the final nail on their coffin with a third goal in the 38th minute.
The under fire FC Likhopo could not fully recover from the fast three goals scored in the first stanza of the match.
The introduction of both Tumelo Lebitsa and Mahooana Mashole who made way for Moqolisi Mothae and Sootho Liphoto in the 55th minute added no substance to their already feeble efforts.
The unending labours of FC Likhopo’s experienced midfielders, Bushy Moletsane and Leduma Posholi were fruitless as the rest of the team were easily dismantled by Matlama’s salvo.
Tse-Putsoa’s no nonsense goal-minder Monaheng Ramalefane was also never taken by off-guard by the visitors’ few attempts at his goals.
In a post-match interview, Matlama coach Charles Manda said his charges prepared themselves quite well for the weekend encounter.

“We were beginning to miss our football. So we worked hard to build the required fitness level which resulted in my charges rising over their opponents today. What matters is getting the results. I feel motivated by this victory, even my players are motivated too,” he also said.
In the other Saturday games, Vodacom Premier League rookies CCX defeated Kick4Life by 1-0 and Swallows FC went down 2-0 to LDF FC while Linare held LCS FC to a goalless draw in what was considered to be the biggest match of the day.
