Minister invites veterans to help revive sports

Speaking during the launch of The Health Day for Football Veterans Association of Lesotho on Sunday, the minister said sports help people stay physically, mentally and psychologically balanced, adding that should be taught to children at a younger age as well as grass root level.
Tampane encouraged the veterans to instill the love of sports in the youth and promote cooperation and commitment.
She acknowledged the efforts the association makes to revive local sports, urging for improved development initiatives.
The ministry, she promised will work together with the veterans to reform sports using their expertise and skills.
“The ministry will also contribute in projects which the association that has already started and will provide a temporary office space for the members,” Tampane said, adding the ministry needs advise on how to convince NACOSEC to ease restrictions on sports.

She showed that lives need to go back to normal and people should learn to live with COVID-19 while observing safety protocols.
President of the Football Veterans Association of Lesotho Lebeko Notsi popularly known as ‘Tycoon’ said they aim to promote job creation, alleviate poverty and contribute towards community development.
Veteran footballers, he said should be acknowledged for their contribution in sports, adding they also need to stay healthy both physically and mentally while also getting the essential counseling.
