LIKUENA caretaker coach Leslie Notsi has called his charges to remain humble after coming from a goal down to stun defending champions Zambia 2-1 in their COSAFA Cup Group A match played at Isaac Wolfson Stadium on Thursday afternoon.

Motebang Sera came off the bench to score two late goals that handed Likuena their first ever outright victory over Chipolopolo.

Sera, who replaced Nkoto Masoabi in the 67th minute, took just three minutes to announce his presence pouncing on Tumelo Khutlang’s ball inside the box to hit a first-time shot beyond Kennedy Mweene.

The Bloemfontein Celtic’s striker completed his double in the 88th minute getting the ball past Mweene for the second time in the match, as Lesotho bounced back from the defeat to Eswatini in their opening match of the group.

“It’s quite an amazing situation because on paper you look at the line-up of Zambia, you see big name stars, but at the end of the day, our boys engaged themselves quite well,” Notsi told COSAFA TV during his post-match interview.

“They were able to address all the matters we had discussed. Managing the process of the game in terms of defensive management of the game and the offensive management of the game.

“We also discussed this in our preparations two days ago that we should be able to adapt to the weather conditions here. We should look into it in a positive way, I think they have been able to absorb that. They have been able to express themselves. I think they have also shown dedication and determination and I’m really happy for them.”
