The appointment was made during FIFA’s 71st congress which was held at the head office in Zurich, Switzerland on Friday.
The virtual assembly also marked the world soccer governing body's recognition of the astute leadership of LeFA’s supremo aged 62.
LeFA Media Officer, Mikia Kalati said in a press statement that KC Phafane is no stranger to football, adding that his journey in the sport began several decades ago at Bantu FC where he served among others as the Mafeteng-based outfit’s Secretary General.
He said Phafane later joined LeFA as a member of the National Executive Committee (NEC), rising through the ranks to become the Secretary General, Vice President and finally the association's President.
“KC Phafane has also served on a number of FIFA Sub- Committees including the Legal Committee, Member Association Committee and the Organising Committee for the FIFA U-20 World Cup,'' he further showed.
At the Confederation of African Football (CAF), Kalati said Phafane served in the Women Football Committee and Legal Committee.
