LIKUENA striker, Motebang Sera has had a change of heart regarding his proposed move to Chippa United and is now edging closer to a reunion with countryman, Lehlohonolo Seema at Golden Arrows.

According to sources close to Sera, he was offered to Chippa United by Royal AM, where he had struggled for game time since the club bought the status of Bloemfontein Celtic in 2021.

However, the former Matlama marksman and his representatives failed to reach an agreement with Chippa United on personal terms though his clearance had already been issued to the Chilli Boys.

The 26-year-old has been training with Arrows for two weeks now, where he is hoping to get his groove back having enjoyed a rich vein of form while working with coach Seema at Bloemfontein Celtic.

“The striker is no longer going to Chippa and has opted for Arrows, where he will reunite with Seema after the two had a successful working relationship at Celtic,” the source said.

“Actually, Seema played a big part in Sera coming to South Africa and playing for Celtic. Lack of game time at Royal AM frustrated him, but he is hopeful of recovering his best form now that he will reunite with Seema at Arrows.”

According to the source, Sera is in high spirits and was in Lesotho last week to sort out his work permit before completing the move to Arrows.

The forward’s first season in South Africa produced seven goals in 20 appearances for Celtic, including the famous brace against Kaizer Chiefs.

He has been afforded only 48 minutes of action in the three matches he played for Royal Am out of the 17 matches the club has played so far in the 2021/22 season in SA.

The 2018/19 Lesotho Premier League top goal-scorer became his country leading marksmen in the history of the COSAFA Cup after netting a brace against Zambia last year to take his tally to six goals in the regional tournament.
