THE Vodacom Premier League returned to action on Wednesday following a four-month absence after the Lesotho Football Association (LeFA) suspended football activities in the country due to increasing cases and deaths caused by the COVID-19 pandemic.

The league kicked off with a match between Lifofane, who had hosted Lioli in Butha Buthe on Wednesday for the only catch up game from the first four rounds of the 2021 season that started in November last year.

Tse Nala, now under the mentorship of a new technical team made of Mosholu “Shoes” Mokhothu and Mohaila Letseka enjoyed a comfortable 2-0 victory over Lifofane.

Switbith Kumo and Tumelo Makha scored the two goals for Lioli with an own goal by Mafa Moremoholo nearly helping Lifofane fight their way back into the game.

Mokhothu and Letseka took over the reins following the passing on of former head coach Thomas Tshabalala in January.

All the Vodacom Premier League clubs will return to action this weekend with pace setters and defending champions Bantu welcoming LMPS at Setsoto Stadium on Saturday.

The country’s most successful side Matlama, who were also unstoppable before the league was suspended, will return to action on Saturday as they host Likhopo at Setsoto Stadium in the Maseru derby.
