MOU to meet senior citizens needs

The Minister of Social Development Temeki Ts'olo said the ministry is among others mandated to protect the interests of the senior citizens. This, Ts’olo however showed could not be achieved without their cooperation with other ministries along with stakeholders such as FVAL. He said the MOU was signed to enhance government policies dealing with issues of the elderly people.

He said both partners agreed to include senior citizens who might be willing to be part of the association in a bid to achieve the motto which says ‘leave no one behind on government developments’. Ts’olo was hopeful that the association would adhere to the provisions of the agreement by providing reports to the ministry who would in turn play guidance and advisory role. For his part, president of FVAL Lebeko Nots'i said they would guide the senior citizens in various fields of life, both physically and psychologically. Lebeko pledged to work hard to ensure that the needs of the elderly people are accordingly meet.
