Former Chiefs star signs with Lifofane FC
The 2025/26 Vodacom Premier League runner ups Lifofane FC has on Tuesday announced the signing of South African international and former Kaizer Chiefs and Amazulu defender Khotso Moleko ahead of the new season. The 36-year-old Bloemfontein born defender last played as a right back for Amazulu in the South African Premier League.
“We are thrilled to announce the signing of South Africa international, former Kaizer Chiefs and Amazulu defender Khotso Moleko,” Lifofane FC announced on Tuesday.
At 1,81m tall, Moleko can also play as a right midfielder and a center back position on the field of play. At the beginning of his career, Moleko played for his home team, Bloemfontein Celtic, making 41 appearances for the team between 2010 and 2012.
He later went on to register 71 appearances for Kaizer Chiefs between the year 2012 and 2021 when He joined Amazulu where he made just nine appearances. Moleko last played professional football in 2022 when he left Amazulu FC and went on to thrive in his farming business which he described as “deeply personal”.
In 2025, he described he described his decision to venture into farming as more of a passion than a random choice, with his full scale agricultural venture including cattle, pigs and sheep among other things.
Lifofane made history by finishing second behind Lijabatho FC in the 2025/26 Vodacom Premier League and the team looks set to push for the league title in the upcoming season with more top signings expected in the current transfer window.
