Thuso Sehloho to represent Lesotho at the AI for Good Global Summit 2026 in Switzerland

Thuso Sehloho, a Lesotho-born tech leader based in Ireland, has been selected by the United Nations to join a panel at the AI for Good Global Summit 2026 in Geneva, Switzerland. He is expected to speak on July 8 during a session titled “The AI Generation: Youth in the AI Era”, where he will represent young African innovators working at the intersection of artificial intelligence and social impact.

The AI for Good Global Summit is a United Nations-led gathering organized by the International Telecommunication Union and its partners to explore how artificial intelligence can be used to solve real-world problems. It brings together policymakers, researchers, businesses, and innovators to focus on practical uses of AI rather than abstract discussion alone.

Sehloho leads the Young AI Leaders Community Lesotho and serves as Vice Chair of STEAMLes Robotics. Through these roles, he has been involved in initiatives that encourage young people to engage with Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts and Mathematics (STEAM) while using AI to solve practical problems in their communities. His work reflects a growing movement across Africa to make emerging technologies more accessible to the next generation.

Thuso is a multi-award-winning technologist and Educator. He has multiple awards that include winning the Huawei ICT Competitions 1st prizes twice, winning the SADC Innovation Challenge, the Vodacom Farmer’s App hackathon and many more. Due to his passion for cutting-edge technologies, he is a Certified AI Engineer, Cloud Engineer, Cyber Security certified, API Architect and certified Information Communications Technology Professional with certifications and recognition from vendors such as Huawei, Cisco, Microsoft, Fortinet, Oracle and many more. He has an Honours in Computing from Botho University and he is currently an Information Systems Management candidate.

At the Geneva summit, Sehloho plans to showcase tools and AI-based programs developed in Lesotho. These projects are designed to support the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, including efforts tied to food security, education, health and community development. His company, AllMyNeeds, also focuses on equipping young people with coding and digital skills that can be used to create solutions for local challenges.

The summit will bring together global policymakers, technology executives, academics and robotics experts, creating a high-level platform for discussion on how AI is shaping the future. The AI for Good Global Summit 2026 will host talks from prominent figures, including H.E. Paul Kagame, President, Republic of Rwanda; H.E. Alar Karis, President, Republic of Estonia; Khaled El-Enany, Director-General, UNESCO; Maria Ressa, Nobel Peace Prize Laureate 2021 and Co-Chair, Independent International Scientific Panel on AI; Wang Jian, Founder, Alibaba Cloud and Zhejiang Lab; Brad Smith, President, Microsoft; Stephanie Bednarek, VP, Commercial Sales, SpaceX; will.i.am, Musician, Technology Founder and Goodwill Ambassador, AI Skills Coalition. The whole list includes many global names, brands and organizations.

Sehloho’s participation highlights the increasing visibility of young African voices in global technology spaces and underscores the role of grassroots innovation in driving digital transformation.
