BOTH Mothetjoa Metsing and Selibe Mochoboroane have to wait until next week Monday to know whether or not they will be charged along the four soldiers accused of the murder of Sub-Inspector Mokheseng Ramahloko of the Lesotho Mounted Police Service (LMPS).

This is because their case could not proceed on Monday as a copy of a written judgment from the Court of Appeal in that regard is not yet available.

Metsing is the leader of the Lesotho Congress for Democracy (LCD) and also former Deputy Prime Minister while Mochoboroane is the leader of the Movement for Economic Change (MEC) and Minister of Development Planning.

Last week, the two political leaders lost their battle in which they were trying to secure immunity from prosecution.

This was after the Appeal Court dismissed one of their appeals while another one was struck off the roll.

They have had their joinder in the criminal trial delayed following a series of applications, some of which ended up in the Court of Appeal.

They now have an application pending before the trial court as it was awaiting the decision of the Court of Appeal. They are in this application seeking stay of proceedings.

If joined, they will be charged along with some members of the Lesotho Defense Force (LDF) who are among others accused of the murder of Ramahloko during an incident that happened at the Police headquarters on August 30, 2014.
The four accused soldiers include former army commander Lieutenant General Tlali Kamoli, Captain Litekanyo Nyakane, Lance Corporals Motloheloa Ntsane and Leutsoa Motsieloa. LeNA
