High Court judge Justice Charles Hungwe
The first to take the witness box was Senior Superintendent Phahla Letsosa who among others told the High Court that although he was the commanding officer of the Hlotse Police Station at the time Khetheng went missing, he was ordered by his superiors to stop investigating the case.
The defence accused the witness of being part of the people who committed a crime by failing to investigate Khetheng’s murder, adding he should have been charged with obstruction of justice along with the four accused.
Senior Inspector ’Mabohlokoa Makotoko took the stand as the second witness, in her testimony she revealed that she was part of a police team that arrested Khetheng who was wanted for arson.
She told the court that after his apprehension in his home village of Sebothoane, Leribe, Khetheng was never seen alive again.
Snr Supt Thabo Tšukulu who is the first accused in the case is represented by King’s Counsel Karabo Mohau.
