MASERU – A 24-year-old Limkokwing University student who allegedly killed a 70-year old woman, briefly appeared before the Berea Magistrate’s Court on murder charges.

The suspect from Ha Ramonaheng, Teyateyaneng was arrested on 19 October. The man is alleged to have attacked the suspect around 12 midnight when she arrived at his home unannounced. Police deputy spokesperson Sergeant ’Mareabetsoe Mofoka told a press briefing earlier today that the suspect accused the old woman of witchcraft.

“She arrived at his house in the middle of the night carrying a bag of flour. But we believe she suffered from amnesia,” Sgt Mofoka said. She further noted that investigations into the incident were continuing as the identity of the slain woman remained unknown.
