MASERU – The chairperson of the ministerial sub-committee National Emergency Command Centre (NECC), Chief Thesele Maseribane will lead a delegation of ministers to South Africa for meetings on challenges facing Basotho in that country during the COVID-19 crisis.

The delegation will among others comprise the Ministers of Health, Foreign Affairs and Home Affairs.

Thesele who is also the Minister of Communications, Science and Technology was speaking on national television on Monday where he gave an update on scores of Lesotho citizens who are trapped by the lockdown in South Africa.

“This is also a comprehensive matter requiring that as we undertake the exercise, statistics of these Basotho nationals is in order,' he said.

Reports show that Basotho nationals who are trapped in South Africa are unable to access food and ARVs for those living with HIV/AIDS among others.

Thesele also appealed to Basothoin Lesotho to continue observing rules meant to prevent COVID-19 such as social distancing as well as regularly washing hands with soap and running water.
