IN a bid to align the work of government ministries, the Cabinet of Ministers is currently on a one-day retreat in Maseru, the government spokesperson, Nthati Moorosi has said.

She said since the government restructured the ministries, the Cabinet found it befitting to convene and collaboratively make plans regarding the aligned ministries  

Moorosi who is also the Minister of Information, Communications, Science, Technology and said they need to have clear plans on how to work in terms of communication areas, signage as well as service delivery to ensure that no ministry is left out or neglected.
She noted that the government is like an ecosystem with interconnected systems, adding that they, therefore, have to work together as a single unit.
She said there will be monitoring and evaluation of the work that has been done by individual ministries to date, focusing on the first 100 days of office.
The new administration led by the leader of the Revolution for Prosperity (RFP), Sam Matekane reduced the number of ministries from 35 to 15 with no deputy ministers.

Under the new restructuring, there is the Ministry of Justice, Law, and Parliamentary Affairs, the Ministry of Health as well as the Ministry of Education and Training.

The other ministries include Communications, Finance and Development Planning, Foreign Affairs, and International Relations as well as Agriculture, Food Security, and Nutrition.
There is also the Ministry of Trade, Industry, Business Development and Tourism, the Ministries of Local Government, Chieftainship, Home Affairs, and Police, Natural Resources, Public Works and Transport, Gender, Youth, Sports, Arts, Culture and Social Development0as well as Public Service, Labour, and Employment. - LeNA
