DEPUTY leader of the Movement for Economic Change (MEC), Tšepang Tšita-Mosena was on Tuesday appointed Deputy Speaker of the National Assembly without any opposition.

This, after member of the RFP, Tlohang Sekhamane was earlier elected Speaker of the House.

In her acceptance speech, Tšita-Mosena underscored among others, the importance of completing the reforms process and giving Basotho the quality service they require.

She urged the newly sworn-in MPs to lead by example all the time towards the change that is needed by many in Lesotho.

The new Deputy Speaker further urged the new MPs to embrace all opportunities presented by the House for growth in order to achieve set objectives.

“Our people, especially those who still suffer the consequences of marginalisation, inequality, poverty and unemployment expect no less from us. We must not fail them,” she appealed.
